It was a huge day for Wellington yesterday to officially reopen the St James. She looks beautiful.
The audience included most of the people in the group that formed in the late 80s / early 90s to save the St James from demolition. Heroes all of them.
I asked Dame Kate Harcourt, just turned 95, to help me cut the celebratory cake.
Tomorrow on Saturday there is an open day with tours from 10am till 4pm, and then a programme of music, events and lights from 5.30 bringing Courtenay Place alive! Many of our other theatres also open for tours. Don’t miss it!
